RISK: New cyber risk conference in Montreal

Dozens of speakers will offer global and cross-sector perspectives to cyber risk management

The first International Cyber Risk Management Conference will take place in Montreal this June.

Dozens of speakers will offer global and cross-sector perspectives to cyber risk management, which is “everyone’s business and best practices need to take a multi‐disciplinary approach,” says conference host Joel Baker, president and CEO of MSA Research Inc.

Keynote speaker Jason Healey, director of the cyber statecraft initiative of the Atlantic Council, will discuss international cooperation, competition and conflict in cyberspace. Other conference topics include regulatory perspectives on a global threat, embedding cyber into enterprise risk and risk transfer solutions.

“As the pace of the cyber threat escalates and with insurance just putting its toes into the cyber risk waters, there are more questions than answers,” says conference emcee Ray Boisvert, senior associate at Hill + Knowlton and former assistant director at CSIS. “Yet there is an emerging collective of wisdom and valuable lessons to be shared amongst industries, policy makers, and disciplines. Waiting on the sidelines is too costly a strategy.”
