Risk and Insurance Professions Will Soon Merge: Airmic

"Young professionals must make sure they adapt."

In the near future, risk and insurance professionals will merge, says Kate Wallin, chair of British risk management association Airmic’s fastTrack program.

Risk professionals entering the industry today need a much broader skillset than their supervisors have developed to succeed in the changing market, says Wallin. “Young professionals must make sure they adapt, not only to have successful careers but also to ensure the risk profession stays relevant to the 21st century business.”

fastTrack, a program for young risk professionals, is hosting a forum next month to help new risk managers make industry connections and learn adaptable business skills.

“It’s so important that people early in their career don’t just think about how to be a good risk manager today, but also how to be a good risk manager in ten years’ time,” Wallin says.
