Regina family’s possessions stolen while in shipping container

The insurance company will start processing a claim at the end of June

A Regina family waiting to move to Singapore has been victimized by thieves who stole a shipping container with all their possessions.

Chris Beingessner, who is to start work at an international school, says their goods were packed in May to be sent ahead, but a shipping company in Singapore told them this week the container had been stolen in Regina.

Beingessner says a Regina storage company had told him weeks before that the container had been sent, but a mix-up between the company and the shipper resulted in it being left on a trailer on the street for days.

The box was gone by the time someone showed up to move it.

Regina police believe the stolen items are still in the area, and Beingessner says the insurance company will start processing a claim at the end of June if they’re not recovered.
