RCCAQ issues memo to brokers notifying them of choice

Following the recent announcement that Intact acquired JEVCO, the Quebec brokers’ association, Regroupement des cabinets de courtage d’assurance du Quebec (RCCAQ), released a memorandum to its members asking them to think carefully about how to talk to JEVCO clients.

The memorandum states that Intact Financial is preparing to send a message to JEVCO clients notifying them of the acquisition, the unchanged claims procedure and the information sources available.

“Considering the importance of adequately informing JEVCO policy holders about the acquisition of their insurer and dispelling any potential confusion, the RCCAQ would like to take this opportunity to remind you that, as mentioned in the message to be sent out by Intact, you have the option of allowing Intact to contact your clients or not,” the memorandum states.

“The RCCAQ encourages you to think this matter over carefully and to always plan your client-related initiatives in advance.”
