Hub International announces two Canadian acquisitions

Hub acquires book of business from Actra Fraternal Benefits Society and shares of STRATA Benefits Consulting

Hub International Limited has acquired a group home and auto insurance program book of business for members of Actra Fraternal Benefits Society (AFBS), a Toronto, Ontario-based firm.  The book of business was acquired from Dale Parizeau Morris Mackenzie Inc. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The AFBS group home and auto insurance program will become part of Hub International Ontario (Hub Ontario).

Founded over 35 years ago, AFBS is a not-for-profit, federally incorporated insurance company that provides services to members of the Association of Canadian Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA) and the Writers Guild of Canada.

Hub has also announced its acquisition of the shares of STRATA Benefits Consulting Inc., a Winnipeg-based employee benefits brokerage firm. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

STRATA will become part of Hub International Horizon (Hub Horizon). Glen Middleton, president of STRATA, will join the organization, reporting to Keith Jordan, president, Hub Horizon.

Founded in 1998, STRATA offers a comprehensive range of solutions and options that help clients maximize their investment in employee benefits.
