Four more brokerages for BrokerLink

The company has added a total of 10 brokerages to its network in 2017

BrokerLink is welcoming four more brokerages to its roster with the acquisition of two brokerages in Ontario and two in Alberta.

Reddick & MacDonald Ltd. and Banks Insurance Services Inc., of Ontario, and Godfrey-Morrow Insurance and Financial Services Ltd. and McFarlane and Company Financial Group Ltd., of Alberta, are officially a part of the BrokerLink network.

The acquired businesses cite BrokerLink’s integration process as a key reason for their decision to join the company.

“We put a lot of thought into selling our business. Ensuring our staff and customers had a smooth transition was crucial,” says Hugh McTavish, president of Godfrey-Morrow, in a statement.

“BrokerLink’s integration process facilitated the transition we wanted. All the details were handled, which allowed us to focus on educating our employees and customers about joining BrokerLink,” he adds.

The newly purchased brokerages also attributed their decision to join BrokerLink to the professional development opportunities available to their employees through the company; the benefits of scale within areas such as human resources and information technology; and the variety of insurance markets and products available through BrokerLink.

This is BrokerLink’s fourth acquisition announcement in 2017. The company added five Ontario-based brokerages and one Alberta-based brokerage to its network between January and April.

BrokerLink was established in 1991 and has more than 115 offices across Ontario, Alberta and Atlantic Canada. It is a subsidiary of Intact Financial Corp.
