CyberScout brings new cyber protection offering to Canadian insurers, policyholders

Features include a password vault and browser with real-time security alerts

A Rhode Island-based data protection company is launching a service aimed at insurers who want to connect their policyholders to identity management, privacy, and cyber security education, products and services.

CyberScout is introducing CyberScout HQ, which is available to Canadian insurers and employers.

“Improving customer engagement is a key objective for insurers. Customers are demanding that their insurers adopt fast, responsive, multichannel models that are informed by data,” states the announcement released Tuesday.

“CyberScout addresses these key demands in the marketplace, providing individuals with a one-stop-shop solution for all services relating to cyber protection and, in doing so, connects subscribers, brokers and insurers in an active conversation around the current and future threats to individual identity,” the announcement continues.

Individual features available to customers include:

  • Access to CyberScout’s identity management service, which provides risk reduction strategies, identity theft protection and unlimited support from the CyberScout fraud team
  • Access to a specialty Truman Grade web browser that monitors websites, grades each site on its security and provides alerts to customers in real time if a website is deemed a cybersecurity risk
  • A password protection vault that will store unique passwords

CyberScout HQ is available as a white-label product so insurers can attach their branding. CyberScout also retains insights about users’ behavioural patterns so that insurers can customize offers and advertising according to customer risk profiles and client preferences.

“CyberScout HQ is a game changer for leading insurers and employers who want to get closer to their customers and employees, attract new demographics and innovate more rapidly,” said Matt Cullina, CEO at CyberScout, in a statement.
