Aon: Reputation damage tops list of risk concerns

Global organizations rated reputation damage as their biggest concern, Aon Risk Solution’s Global Risk Management Survey revealed.

Cyber risk was ranked as the ninth most prevalent global risks.

“It’s little surprise to see cyber risk enter the top 10 at the same time we are seeing increasing concern about corporate reputation,” says Gary McDonell, national director of Aon Global Risk Consulting, “as the two issues are a great example of the interconnectivity of risk.”

C-suite respondents to the survey focused on financial and economic risk such as economic slowdown and technology failure, while risk managers focused on liability-related risk including cyber and property damage.

McDonell says these different concentrations “illustrate how imperative it is that the board of directors have effective and regular communication with risk managers to effectively assess and mitigate the company’s risk exposure.”
