Aon celebrates 25th anniversary with teambuilding program
Following the success of its partnership with Manchester United, Aon has launched a new engagement program through its global platform: Pass it On. This program spans six continents and allows Aon staff to share their knowledge, service and values while giving back to their local communities.
Specifically, Aon’s four regions—the Americas, UK/EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa), Asia and the Pacific —will move Manchester United footballs along three different routes. When a football lands in an Aon office, it allows staff to engage in an online competition where they can share videos, photos and stories covering various aspects of Aon, including client success stories, colleague profiles and stories on local community service initiatives to educate fellow colleagues.
“Throughout the program Aon colleagues will participate in a series of talent and engagement challenges,” said Tom Cadman, chief commercial officer at Aon Reed Stenhouse Inc.
The first challenge in Canada is recognizing women leaders, and employees can identify inspiring female colleagues by providing their profiles.
“In Canada we plan to profile president Christine Lithgow, Eastern leader Joanne Lepine (based in Montreal), and chief legal counsel Terrie-Lynne Devonish,” said Cadman. “Multiple research reports show a direct correlation between business performance and gender diversity in top management. Today women represent a large diversity group at Aon, making up more than half our workforce.”
Teams will be awarded points based on their participation. Pass it On’s goal is to share knowledge while building Aon’s internal network to better serve clients, and also to engage community service while showing how diverse we are as an organization, noted Cadman.
The program kicked off in October 2011 in Hobart, Australia, Cape Town, South Africa, and Punta Arenas, Chile. The footballs will travel north in each region for an eight month period until they reach their final destination in London, UK in June 2012. At that time, Aon will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a charity gala and the winning teams will be announced.
“Aon’s goals over the next 25 years are to continue to build our bench strength internationally, have a value proposition that continues to gain interest amongst our client base and new customers that’s second to none, and develop new products that make an impact to company’s operations,” added Cadman.
