MPI proposes motorcycle premium decrease of 7.63 percent

Private passenger vehicle premiums would drop by 0.1 percent

Proposed changed from Manitoba Public Insurance would see auto insurance rates fall for almost 400,000 drivers.

The biggest decrease would come for motorcycle riders with a proposed cut of 7.63 percent in basic premiums for a motorcycle in changes set to start March 1st of next year.

Premiums on private passenger vehicles would drop by a much smaller 0.1 percent.

MPI says it’s the twelfth time in 15 years it has not asked for an overall rate increase.

All rate changes still need to be approved by the Public Utilities Board.
