WICC Ontario Golf Tournament

On a sunny July Monday, GTA insurance folks gathered at Angus Glen Golf Club for the 16th annual WICC Ontario Golf Tournament.

The Canadian Cancer Society was given a cheque for $75,000 raised by WICC. All the funds go directly towards targeted researched projects with no administrative fee deducted.

Many of the biggest Canadian discoveries in the battle against cancer – from the 1950s creation of the Cobalt-60 radiation unit to a new type chemotherapy for brain cancer patients developed in 2010 – have been made by Society-funded researchers.

Eighty-two percent of the 1,310 Canadian children who are diagnosed with cancer this year will survive because of advances made through research.
