Gore Mutual Donates $40,000 on Giving Tuesday

Gore Mutual celebrated Giving Tuesday by donating $40,000 to charities in Ontario and British Columbia, one of the largest Giving Tuesday donations in Canada this year.

The company originally planned to give six charities $5,000 each and used social media to ask brokers and customers for suggestions on which organizations should receive the gifts. Nominations for nearly 400 charities were submitted, and in reaction to the fantastic outpouring of support, Gore Mutual expanded its giving to award an additional 10 charities, who received $1,000 each.

“We were amazed by the magnitude of response and coordinated efforts from the public to have their charity recognized for their community work,” said Heidi Sevcik, president and CEO of Gore Mutual.

On November 28, Gore Mutual employees visited the 16 charities receiving grants to deliver the cheques. They were joined by staff from brokerages who nominated the charities, including Legear Pelling Insurance, dbi Brokers, St. Clair Insurance Brokers, Reid & Bradley’s Insurance and Preferred Insurance Group.
