WICC Rallies At Relay For Life

hope
The insurance industry turned out in force on Friday, June 25th, for the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay For Life at the Esther Shiner stadium in North York, Ontario. Teams of participants walked the night away, taking turns doing laps of the track in a 12-hour overnight relay. The weather was cooperative and a DJ spinning dance tunes kept people in the mood to keep moving.

The insurance industry was very strongly represented at the event, thanks to the organizational efforts of the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC). Several large teams raised a considerable portion of the almost $292,000 total for the North York edition of the relay. At the halfway point of the night, Canadian Insurance Top Broker magazine arrived with donuts to help give walkers the energy to make it through the wee hours of the morning.
